Thomas pulls into his driveway after a long day of work. He heads inside to shower to get ready to go out.
Buzz, buzz.
Interested to see what that noise was, he opens his backpack and he sees his phone.
Phone: How are you buddy?
Thomas: Hey man what's up?
Phone: How was your day?
Thomas: Not too bad. Just another long day at work.
Phone: Just like every other day. Why don't you just lay down and use your phone for the rest of the night? I have everything you need.
Thomas: I would love to but I made plans with some friends.
Phone: Who cares about them?
Thomas: I do. It's some friends from out of town. I haven't seen them in a long time. This is probably one of the few times I'll be able to see them this year.
Phone: Yeah I know but it would be sooo much easier just to lay down in bed and be on the phone for the rest of the night.
Thomas: Nah, I'm ok. I want to go out.
Phone: But what about the Netflix show you're watching? Or the Youtube channel you love to watch? Or just scrolling through Instagram? You HAVE to keep up to date with all those things as well. Isn't that stuff more important to you?
Thomas: It's important to me but seeing old friends is important to me as well.
Phone: Come on man. You know you want to. Just lay down and start scrolling.
Thomas starts to think. It would be nice to just lay down after a long day and go through the shows/channels that he loves to watch. He could finally relax after a long day. Just as Thomas is starting to get comfortable on his bed to use his phone, he gets a phone call from his old friend Jim.
Jim: Hey Tom! We're still on for tonight right?
Thomas sits on his bed and realizes that he was going to leave his friend out there with no one to see when he specifically came to see him.
Thomas: Yeah for sure man! I'm about to leave right now.
As the phone hangs up, Thomas starts to get ready to go out.
Phone: What are you doing man? We can just chill for the rest of the night.
Thomas: I'm going out to see an old friend.
Phone: Come on man. I got everything you need. We got...
Thomas grabs the phone and puts it on mute. Thomas realized he was going to leave an old friend out by himself for a phone. Thomas goes out and has a great time.
