Ever since I got my dog, Rookie, two years ago, I’ve loved going to different places to walk. One because it gives Rookie a new place to explore. And two, it also gives me a new place to explore. Here’s a picture of my dog if you’re wondering how he looks.
Recently I went to Cove Island Park, a place which I’ve been coming to for my whole life. When I was on the walk, I started looking more closely at the benches around the park and realized there were names on each one. Every bench had someone's name or a family name and sometimes a little message under it. I found this surprising yet impressive because I’ve been coming to this park my whole life but just realized that each bench is commemorated to someone or someone's family. I found this awesome so while I was walking around the park with Rookie and saw a bench, I stopped by and read the peoples names and the message. Some just had peoples names, some had in loving memory, and some had messages describing the person.
Towards the end of my walk, I came across two benches next to each other that had color on them. That was different because all the other ones didn’t have any color. As I got close enough to read them, the benches were from the same people. It was two benches from a married couple celebrating their 50th and 55th wedding anniversary. I found this awesome because it was so different from the other benches. Wherever I go now I’ll for sure be keeping an eye on the benches.
